Hi everyone,
CEO Texas would like to invite you to an information and organization night for Venture Weekend 2009. If you don't know what Venture Weekend is, check out the information at the end of this email. We are looking for organizers, as well as participants for this year's event. If you participated in Venture Weekend last year, please join us to share your experience with others.
The details about the meeting are as follows:
What: Venture Weekend Information Session
Where: ACES Conference Room 3.402
When: Wednesday, February 4th, 5pm
The meeting will be a brief presentation about the Venture Weekend event. Those attendees that are interested in participating in this year's event will have the opportunity to speak with previous participants in the weekend and get information about how and when to apply. For those that are interested in organizing this year's event, we will also be arranging informal interviews (possibly the same night).
If you get excited about technology, start-ups, entrepreneurship and/or networking, you need to attend this meeting (get your fix with VW'09 :P).
We hope to see you there.
Joel & CEO Texas

What is Venture Weekend?
We bring together a group of 40 participants*, over one weekend, to start a web or software company. The event is an intense 72 hour session of product and business development. CEO Texas provides meals, a location and even accomodations in special cases. We are looking for participants in many areas including: law, computer science, engineering, web development, all aspects of business development, marketing, graphical design, communications, public relations and more. For more on Venture Weekend, see last year's website: www.ventureweekend.com. Please forward this invitation to anyone you know that might be a good fit!
*Note that many participants are students, but we invite anyone that is interested to apply to participate.
What do the organizers do?
Organizers of Venture Weekend shape the experience and environment surrounding the weekend birth of a company. They can take on many roles including: seeking sponsors, event planning, budget and finance, moderating, coordinating legal aspects, arranging media and advertising, system administration, recruiting participants, presenting technology tutorials and more. You could help us fill one or more of these roles!
